About Zuyderland Medisch Centrum

Zuyderland originated from Atrium Medical Center Parkstad and Orbis Medical and Care Group Sittard-Geleen. These healthcare institutions merged on January 1, 2015. The actual merger marked the start of an extensive change process. The combined qualities of Atrium and Orbis have strengthened healthcare in Limburg, both now and in the future. As a teaching hospital, we believe knowledge transfer is of great importance. We learn from each other and choose the best of both worlds. We invest in further specialization and modern medical equipment and are keen to be at the forefront of innovations in healthcare.
Zuyderland has specific expertise in oncology, obesity, mobility and exercise, neurocognitive disorders, and medical care for the elderly. Within each of these medical priorities, we are continuing to build a so-called ‘center of excellence’: a center with unique knowledge and/or skills in the Netherlands, known among fellow doctors as the center or one of the few centers with the most knowledge in the specific area of focus.
We continuously strive to develop and successfully implement applicable new ideas, resources, techniques, services, and processes for healthcare and service provision. By being innovative, we try to optimize the care for our patients. In addition, medical specialists and other professionals are interested in innovations, which stimulates the influx of highly qualified specialists.

Why Dyzle?

When the hospital was still called Atrium, Dyzle temperature monitoring was already chosen. We have been working with Dyzle for over 15 years now. During that time, the collaboration has grown considerably, and all departments at Zuyderland Medical Center now use Dyzle temperature monitoring.

The hospital must comply with guidelines such as GDP and GMP, and that is exactly where Dyzle plays an important role. Since we also work with clinical trials here, the stored study material is invaluable and must therefore be monitored 24/7 according to the highest standards.

“Dyzle helps us perfectly with monitoring our clinical trial material.”

What is Dyzle used for?

We need to monitor the temperature of all medication, blood bags, blood tubes, and reagents. Dyzle sensors are installed in cold rooms and freezers, in the pharmacy, and in (refrigerated) medicine cabinets throughout the hospital.
Each department head, together with authorized users, has access to the settings and the collected data. Any alarms are followed up in a systematic manner. If there are problems with a cooling system, our own technical service can quickly contact a local Dyzle partner. In our case, that is Willems Koeltechniek, who, together with Dyzle, also take care of the delivery of new refrigerators, including calibrated temperature monitoring. This means we have complete peace of mind when it comes to replacing or expanding our cooling capacity.

What makes using Dyzle so interesting?

We can easily move refrigerators between departments because the equipment is wireless. More than 60 employees can log into Dyzle, all with the appropriate rights and authorizations. The clear weekly reports provide a quick overview, enabling us to solve problems proactively. Dyzle’s online environment is very user-friendly and makes viewing and sharing data very easy. The icing on the cake is Dyzle’s support in validating temperature monitoring. This saves us a lot of paperwork and time.
